Weird Snow and Snow White

It started to snow the other day and Cambria sat by the window to watch it. Too bad it didn't last that long.
She wanted to open the door so she could see and touch the snow, but it was really fluffy, kinda looked like hail, but it wasn't. Weird. It didn't fall heavy like hail, it kinda looked like styrofoam.

She is Snow White for Halloween. I have more pictures from her dance class that will post later.
She can never be serious...

25th Birthday!

On Sunday we went to Blackfoot for my Birthday dinner and to carve pumpkins. We ate chicken wings, fries, salad, and corn bread. I am sure I am missing something else, but all I can think about are the chicken wings! I have been craving more ever since. Aaron's dad fries them and then tosses them in sauce (franks hot sauce mixed with honey and brown sugar, Aaron's recipe) and then they put them in the oven so that the wings are more crispy than just drowning and soggy in the sauce. SO GOOD! Yesterday for my birthday we went to IHOP for breakfast, and then went shopping, got ourselves Halloween costumes, and then met Corey, Brenna and Justin at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. I know what you are thinking... going out to eat 2 times in one day? Well it was my birthday and I was sick last year so this year I stuffed my face to make up for it! So here are come pictures from Sunday, and then some from today. Cambria was helping me give Ashlynn a bath. The two of them are so cute together.

She just couldn't stay awake through the whole party!

Fudge Brownies

Brenna wanted me to post these. They are SO yummy, we ate a whole pan while my mom was here, and they are really easy to make.

2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup margarine

Mix together. Then add
4 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour

Bake brownies at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Make sure they are cool before you put on the frosting.

Frosting
2 tbs cocoa
3 tbs milk
1/4 cup margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
mix frosting with a mixer really well so that the margarine blends in.

Cabin!

We just LOVE going to the cabin. I like it because it is only about 30 minutes away so we can go just to spend a few hours up there. I also Love it up there right now because it is cold, and it's fun to watch a movie and drink hot chocolate. So cozy. Cambria loves her sister so much. Whenever we take Ashlynn to the doctor for her checkups, they always ask how Cambria is dealing with having a new baby. I am so glad that they really like each other, and Cambria always wants to be around Ashlynn, and she helps us out a lot. We have such good kids.

We saw these deer on the way to the cabin. They were right next to the road but by the time I got the camera out they were running away. We have seen deer, lots of cows, and 3 moose up there. We were glad that we scared them off, and hopefully they ran and hid, because it is hunting season!!!

I was hoping there would be more leaves still on the trees, because it is so pretty up there when the leaves change, but we missed it. The trees were bare, but there were some orange and red bush type things. It still was a pretty drive.
I was nervous about putting Ashlynn on the swing with Cambria, just because Cambria likes to spin around in it really fast, but she smiled the whole time and cried when Aaron took her out!
They were reading about Smokey The Bear. I had no idea that he was a real bear. I feel kinda dumb...
I like how Ashlynn is helping to hold the magazine. SO CUTE!
The new tv!!

Hard at work

Ashlynn has been working really hard at rolling over. So far she has gone from back to tummy a few times, but she gets stuck on her arm and doesn't like it, but she is a pro at going from her tummy to back! She is only 4 months old... what a smartypants!! Also she has just started making this annoying screaming noise. She doesn't just do it when she is mad, she does it ALL the time.

Aaron has been working hard too. He is almost done framing the basement. I am amazed at the things that he knows how to do. It will be nice to have it done so he can have an office and I can have a craft/guest room and another bathroom! Cambria asked what he was doing and we told her he was making 2 rooms and a bathroom, so now when she has to go she says I want to use the bathroom in the basement... we have to remind her that it isn't even close to being finished. So silly.

Pumpkin Patch!!

My mom came to visit us for the week, and we had SO much fun! We mainly sat around, ate, and shopped. We went with Brenna to pick out invitations and a wedding dress. I didn't take very many pictures, but here are the ones I took.

We are very glad you came to see us Amma!! We will see you again in a month!

Soft Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup shortening (I used margarine)
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
4 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. vanilla
Mix everything together, I put all the wet ingredients in my mixer first and then mixed in the flour. I had to add a bunch of extra flour because it was really sticky and then you also mix flour in when you roll them out so it doesn't stick to the counter. Bake for about 10-12 minutes on 350, I took them out of the oven before they started to turn brown because I like them to stay chewy.

Frosting
1/4 cup margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tbs milk
2 Tbs cocoa
I doubled the recipe so I would have enough for all of the cookies, this frosting is actually supposed to be put on brownies, so I added a little vanilla to half of the frosting so that I would have chocolate and vanilla. Yum.

Some Stuff

Ashlynn picking out some new stuff at Kohls....

We made some Halloween sugar cookies, they are so good! I like this recipe because the cookies stay really soft, and I don't really like crunchy cookies.

These were some of the ones Cambria did, they look great huh?
I love this little green sweater, but her feet look huge in this picture.
They have the same color eyes. Cambria is like me, she is always making funny faces in pictures.
Ashlynn smiles ALL the time, it is hard to get her to laugh though because she holds it in. She is so cute!

Fiona likes to pretend she is a baby just like Ashlynn. She likes to be held and talks like a baby, and eats from this little baby bottle. It is funny.

My first RV trip, and it snowed!

Aaron's parents bought an RV, and I think it is AMAZING! It is a little older but it is very clean and everything works great! We decided to take it to Utah just to test it out and to see his aunt who is sick. It was a really fun overnight trip. PLEASE invite us again!!! It was a little difficult to make Cambria stay buckled up, but there are 2 seatbelts at the table and one on the couch and then the seat she is sitting on. So she would rotate between those seats. Ashlynn's carseat was buckled in on the couch and she just slept most of the time. I have gotten lucky with both of my babies, they don't cry much.
The seat Aaron and Ashlynn are on is a long couch that folds out into a bed.
This is the kitchen, the table folds into another bed.
The bedroom in back.

Bathroom.
Yep, that's right.... we parked it at Wal-mart overnight. It was free and we had the whole back of the parking lot to ourselves! It got really windy and that was kinda loud and then there was this guy driving this big loud thing that was cleaning the parking lot at like 4 in the morning, but other than that it was nice, warm and cozy inside!

This morning when we woke up there was snow outside, so I took Cambria out to play in it. The snow was melting fast but it is starting to snow again now, so maybe there will be some to play in later.
When we moved into this house in April Cambria saw our Christmas tree and really wanted to put it up, and I told her it wouldn't be Christmas until it snowed... well I thought she would forget about that, but when she saw the snow she said "It's Christmas Day"!

I always get really excited the first couple of times it snows, but then the cold and snow gets old really fast... It is going to be a LONG winter!!!
